Poem ‘Nine Gold Medals’ by David Roth
In the poem “Nine Gold Medals”, all the athletes link their arms and finish the race together. All the participants are thus awarded a gold medal, and no silver and bronze are awarded. Also this is how the poem gets its name, NINE GOLD MEDALS.
The athlete who comes second in any event generally gets a silver medal. Similarly who comes first gets the gold medal and the person coming third gets a bronze medal.
