Naidu’s poem “In the Bazaars of Hyderabad” is set in a traditional Indian market in Hyderabad in British India, i.e., before independence. It is unlike a modern supermarket. The sellers used to bring mostly their home-made products and sell them in the bazaar shouting their trade-cry.
