The poet wants his countrymen to achieve perfection in whatever they do by striving tirelessly. The poet realized that if people were lazy and wasting their precious time, they could never achieve any success in life. Even if they got their political freedom, they could not enjoy it fully. That is why he wanted to develop a work culture in his countrymen. He wanted to cultivate the virtue of hard work. That was the only way around to make his nation progress.
