What did the Abbot of Aberbrothok do? Who ‘blest’ (blessed) him and why?
The Abbot of Aberbrothok, a good and old man, had placed a bell on the Inchcape Rock.
The bell on the Inchcape Rock warned the passing ships of the danger of the rock. The seamen who could avoid the danger while passing by the rock, blessed the Abbot for this good work of placing the bell on the rock.
