What do you mean by ‘unborn eyes’ in Henry Cuyler Bunner’s poem ‘The Heart of the Tree’? Which figure of speech is used here?

The joy that unborn eyes shall see —

In the above line, ‘unborn eyes’ means our future generations, the ones who have not yet been born.
‘Eyes’ here means the child, a part of body representing the whole. Thus it can also be classified as a synecdoche, a class of metonymy.
