In the poem “A Psalm of Life” the poet expresses his belief that the human soul is immortal. It can never be destroyed. Indeed, the soul remains unchanged even after our death. Though the body becomes dust again and goes back to the earth, the soul is perpetual or eternal. So he says: “Dust thou art, to dust returnest, / Was not spoken of the soul.”
